Beatty’s book is reminiscent of the fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm and the Early Disney film adaptations.
The Pilgrim is a beautiful, hopeful, and inspiring story. What I love about it is the beautiful picture of the manifest glory of God in the change of hearts within broken men and women. We are shown without equivocation the hope and healing that Christ brings.
Charles Martin has been given an incredible gift from God in that he see’s humanity so clearly. His writing is deep, raw, and real. If it doesn’t pull a plethora of emotions from you I would be very surprised.
This book is worth reading. No piece of junk here lurking for unknowing bibliophiles. This was a book that rapidly gained my attention and kept it. I found it to be a quick read, as in I finished it in a day because I didn’t want to stop reading it. It had some great action and some twists and turns. Best of all, it lives in a unique space and time that is not crowded by everyone else’s already done to death ideas.
This novel is a human portrayal of a man. Sin, flaws and all. A man that was used mightily by God to serve His will. I pray that I would serve so well.
You need to read this one but well …. ummm is about all that I can say. What an ending!
I love this book. When I was a child I would beg my parents to read it to me every night. It spoke of adventure and all things exciting.
